Strengthening Principal Preparation

Our schools and students need stronger leaders to build the next generation of thinkers and problem solvers. Colleges and universities are key to developing future school leaders.

New Leaders partners with higher education institutions looking to attract diverse leaders who reflect the communities they serve, improve program quality while sustaining revenue, and cultivate a pipeline of leaders who are making transformational change in our schools and society.

New Leaders works alongside higher education partners in principal preparation programs to:

  • Co-design elements of effective online and blended programs
  • Build capacity of faculty to perfect new practices
  • Learn side-by-side to improve program elements

We tailor our approach to universities’ experience and knowledge, providing leaders with top-notch instruction, real-world practice, and a community of like-minded leaders dedicated to getting results.

New Leaders’ work in partnering with universities to transform principal preparation programs is supported by an investment from the Studio @ Blue Meridian.

Setting Your Program Apart

Future principals are looking for programs that help them answer the call to lead in this moment. With 20 years of experience in adult learning, we’re partnering with universities to add capacity to programs to make them more competitive in attracting future leaders. Our approach gets results. In a multiyear study, the RAND Corporation found that principals who completed our programs considerably improved learning experiences for their students and got positive results for their school communities.

Partnership Spotlight

Austin Peay State University | Clarksville, TN

“It has been a really exciting adventure to partner with people who have the caliber of work ethic and integrity and expertise that New Leaders has provided to us. I could never have put together the kind of program we’re going to be able to deliver if I had not had the different people from New Leaders walking beside me.”
