Denise Corbett Dennis
Denise Corbett Dennis serves as Chief National Aspiring Principals Fellowship Officer at New Leaders. She brings 20 years of combined professional experience working in both urban school districts and non-profits paving the way for education reform. Throughout her time at New Leaders, Denise has served in various leadership roles and supported a number strategic initiatives, using her expertise to design and deliver programming and manage partner relationships in alignment with organization-wide goals. Before joining New Leaders, Denise spent eight years in a large urban school district focused on principal recruitment, selection, development and ongoing evaluation.
She firmly believes in the importance of providing all children with equal access to high-quality education and views school leadership as a key lever in the transformation process required to put students on a path to college and career readiness. To that end, Denise has previously served on the board of a charter school and supported strategic investment committees with United Way of the Greater Triangle Area.
Denise has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Psychoeducational Studies with a focus on early childhood with special reference to African-American and underserved populations. She is a proud alumni of Howard University School of Education and an avid supporter of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
